Following his final episode of WWE Raw before leaving for several months to return for the new season of ESPN College Gameday, Pat McAfee took to the microphone to address the WWE Universe.

“Before I begin, there’s a chance that in every city that we’re in, you guys make some noise for the greatest on the mic, Samantha Irvin,” McAfee began in his post-show promo while standing on the ringside commentary desk. “It’s an honor to be in the home of the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. The sunrise was magical and tonight will actually be my last Raw for about four months. It’s all good. I can’t thank you enough for making this incredible night even better than it could have ever imagined. I want to say a few thank yous. Can you all help me? So when I say, ‘I just want to say,’ are you going to say ‘thank you’? I just want to say (the audience says thank you.'”

The WWE Raw commentator continued, “To the ring crew that prepares this place every night so everyone can enjoy the show, I just want to say (thank you). To the guys in the truck in the back that operate all the cameras here around the world, I just want to say (thank you). To the makeup crew that helps me look good on TV and everyone else, I just want to say (thank you). To the Superstars in the back that put their lives on the line for the good of our entertainment and have been so welcoming to me in all my stupidity, I just want to say (thank you). To the people at Gorilla with their giant brains that have shaped this industry for decades, for being so incredibly kind to me, I just want to say (thank you). To the guys at TVL, the locker room of television, thank you for being so nice, for hanging out, sharing some gummy bears, maybe some combos, I just want to say (thank you).”

McAfee then went on to share some kind words with his WWE commentary partner and friend Michael Cole and concluded by thanking the WWE Universe.

“To Michael Cole: You’re the greatest of all time,” he said. “Thank you for making me look way better and smarter than I’ll ever be. Working with you has been a dream come true. I’ve seen you on TV since before I was born, you old bastard. You just keep getting better. I just want to say (thank you). To the WWE Universe: You’re all the best. I just want to say (thank you). See you in January. I love you. Bye.”

As previously mentioned, Joe Tessitore will take over WWE Raw, while Michael Cole will move to WWE SmackDown starting September 2nd.

Pat McAfee is set to return to his role as co-commentator on WWE Raw when the show moves from USA Network to Netflix in January 2025.
