HACKENSACK, NJ — Hackensack police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 12-year-old girl who was reported missing earlier today. The girl, identified as Alanna Messias, was last seen at the intersection of State and Atlantic streets.

According to Hackensack police, Alanna was last seen walking south from the intersection, reportedly wearing a blue zip-up sweatshirt, black sweatpants and tan mules.

Authorities have asked anyone with information on Alanna’s whereabouts to contact them immediately. The department can be reached at 201-646-7777.

No further details have been released about Alanna’s disappearance. Police are continuing their search operations and are urging the public to remain vigilant.

Hackensack Police have asked that any sightings or information be reported as soon as possible.

TEMPLE HILLS, Maryland, — Prince George’s County police have charged an 18-year-old suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in Temple Hills. The suspect, identified as Izayah Matthews of Temple Hills, is accused of shooting 43-year-old Antonio Bell of Oxon Hill.

The incident occurred on August 18, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Huntley Square Drive. Officers rushing to the scene found Bell in a parking lot with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was also found with a gunshot wound, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

According to the preliminary investigation, Matthews shot Bell during an argument before fleeing the scene. The PGPD Fugitive Unit found and arrested Matthews late Sunday night.

Matthews has been charged with first-degree and premeditated murder and other related offenses. He is currently being held without bail at the Department of Corrections.

“The suspect is in custody,” Prince George’s County Police said in a statement, confirming Matthews’ arrest and the ongoing investigation into the incident.

STAFFORD, Va., Stafford County officials arrested two drivers for drunken driving in two separate incidents early Saturday morning; both cases appeared to involve drunken driving.

The first incident occurred on August 17, 2024 at approximately 12:33 a.m., when Deputy AE Epps was called to a car accident on Forbes Street. According to the caller, the driver had driven his vehicle into some bushes and appeared to be intoxicated. He stumbled as he tried to get back on his feet. When officers arrived, they observed clear signs of intoxication. The driver admitted to drinking approximately five beers before driving. Despite his requests to “run off” and go home, officers arrested him and took him to Rappahannock Regional Jail. He was charged with driving under the influence and held until he sobered up.

Shortly thereafter, at 1:23 a.m., Deputy AJ Charoenthep noticed a motorcycle without taillights on Butler Road near the Sunoco gas station at 201 Emancipation Highway. Deputy Charoenthep initiated a traffic stop, but before the motorcycle came to a complete stop, the driver lost control and nearly crashed. The driver showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking three beers before getting on his motorcycle. He was charged with drunk driving and improper taillights. Like the first suspect, he was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until he sobered up.

Both incidents underscore the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing efforts to combat drunk driving and ensure traffic safety.

“The delicate situation escalated,” the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office stated in its report, emphasizing the dangers of driving under the influence and the department’s determination to enforce laws against driving under the influence.
