Going out to eat something delicious and also picking up a little snack for your BCC? It’s a tasty tradition for people who spoil their best canine cuties.

However, not every restaurant offers delicious options for our animal friends, but Salt & Straw has had tasty dishes for our canine friends in mind for a few years now.

And the tasty snack—and yes, you really should say “snack” when talking about special treats for your dog—that the ice cream shop has put on its permanent menu comes in a cup for your pup.

It’s actually a Pup Cup, a frozen treat with a flavor made especially for Fidos: apple and carrots with sweet potato strips.

The dairy-free ice cream? It’s a “soft coconut” and, like all of Pup Cup’s additions, is made with the “same high-quality, human-grade ingredients” that the company uses in its artisanal ice creams.

A single Pup Cup, purchased at a Salt & Straw Scoop Shop, costs $3.75. If you want to have it shipped (shipping is available nationwide), a pack of 12 costs $65.

National Dog Day is August 26th, a Monday in 2024.

Dogs certainly don’t suffer from the Monday blues that humans often get, although they may do a little if that’s the day their owners go back to work each week.

If you want to spoil them in a celebratory way and also treat yourself to a nice scoop of something gooey and healthy, stop by your local Salt & Straw and pick up a Pup Cup.

Then the licking can begin. Pup Cups may make your dog’s whiskers extra sweet and even creamy for an hour or two, but we can’t imagine your little one will mind that much.
