Five dancers and three teachers from Dance Dynamics in Tryon recently visited New York City. They saw many famous sights, took dance classes at the Broadway Dance Center, and attended two Broadway shows.

The trip included visits to the Empire State Building, a cruise to the Statue of Liberty, a stop at the World Trade Center Memorial, a stroll through Central Park, and shopping and dining in Times Square. The group shopped at the Disney Store and the M&M Store and ate at The Pink Taco and Juniors, famous for its New York-style cheesecake that everyone had to try.

The classes at Broadway Dance Center were the highlights of the trip. The group enjoyed a ballet, tap, jazz-funk and contemporary dance class. The group saw Aladdin and was fascinated by The Outsiders. They also met the cast and got autographs from them. It was obvious why this show had won so many Tony Awards. The choreography was spectacular and enjoyed by the dance group. The group traveled by plane, bus, subway and boat and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city, but everyone agreed that they were excited to return to the quiet small towns here and of course the mountains.

The dancers in attendance were Aleigha Blackwell, Zoey Conner, Lindsey Dotson, Jasmine Keele and Reese Owens. They were accompanied by teachers Josh Borges, Missy Fincher and Joy Shanahan. It was a wonderful learning experience and a lot of fun.
