Hornets 2K ratings, betting odds and other news

There’s no big news, and I’m not good at noticing the little bits of news that trickle out as they happen, so we’re just going to do these quick roundups of Charlotte Hornets news as it comes out. That’s cooler to me than trying to get clicks with vague headlines in 50-word posts. But everyone’s different, I guess.

JT Thor is a part-time player in the NBA

Former Hornets second-round pick and perpetual “could be good” player JT Thor has signed a two-way contract with the Cavaliers. He will spend most of next season with the Canton Charge of the G League, but will likely make a few cameos with the Cavs throughout the season.

The Hornets have the worst chances of winning the NBA Finals

According to ESPN Bet, the Hornets have +100,000 odds to win the title this year. That means if you bet $100, you’ll win $100,000 if the Hornets finish the season as champions. Those are the worst odds, along with the Pistons, Nets, Trail Blazers, Jazz and Wizards. If the Hornets are healthy, should be the best of these teams, and that is confirmed by the team’s total number of wins, which is around 29.5 depending on your perspective. That’s the best of this group, equal to the Bulls and Raptors.

Speaking of not believing the Hornets, their 2K ratings are bad too

NBA 2K25 is coming out in a few weeks and the ratings are available online for everyone to see and discuss. LaMelo Ball is the top Hornet with a total score of 88, followed by Brandon Miller (81), Miles Bridges (81) and Mark Williams (80). The rest of the Hornets are as follows:

  • Nick Richards – 78
  • Tre Mann – 77
  • Josh Green -77
  • Grant Williams – 77
  • Cody Martin – 76
  • Vasilije Micic – 75
  • Seth Curry – 74
  • Nick Smith Jr. – 73
  • Taj Gibson – 73
  • Tidjane Salaun – 71
  • Moussa Diabate – 70
  • KJ Simpson – 69

In terms of their position in the NBA, the top three Hornets are in the NBA Top 100 – LaMelo (36), Miller (84), Bridges (91).

As a team, the Hornets have an overall record of 80. Only the Nets (78) are worse. The Hornets are tied with the above teams in championship odds and total number of wins.
