I love the Sony Inzone H5. This excellent PS5 headset is a blast for gaming or listening to your favorite movies/shows/music, it’s super comfortable to wear for hours, and it just happens to be the best PS5 wireless headphone set I’ve tested. And now it’s been slashed in price at Best Buy.

At the moment the The Sony Inzone H5 wireless gaming headset is on sale at Best Buy for $129. $20 might not be an earth-shattering saving compared to the $149 this brilliant audio offering from Sony normally costs. Then again, I’d argue that the Inzone H5 is such a high-quality headset that the iconic Japanese company could easily charge more for it. There’s a reason I called it a “mid-range wonder” when I reviewed it.

Speaking of which, here’s what I said in my 4/5 Sony Inzone H5 review Verdict: “The Sony Inzone H5 is a gaming headset that will blow your mind and delivers sensational sound on both PS5 and PC. Although it’s technically a mid-range device, the H5 can give me a richer sound experience than far more expensive headsets I’ve owned before. Loud, ultra-comfortable, and with fantastic 3D surround sound, this is the PS5 headset I’d choose over any other.”

Honestly, this is the easiest Editor’s Choice award I’ve ever given out during my time at Tom’s Guide.

I love pretty much everything about the Inzone H5. I think it looks great (especially in white) and it’s a battery monster – it lasts 28 hours on a single charge. The foam cups feel so good on my ears that I can wear this headset for hours while I’m in my beloved Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. And as far as sound quality goes, this is such a well-rounded, bass-rich artist that watching the best Netflix movies with the H5 wrapped around your head is pure pleasure.

It is also great at handling 3D surround sound, which many of the best PS5 games The best example of a title that uses this surround sound API feature? That would have to be a roguelite shooter returnin my opinion. When the Inzone H5 hugs your skull, the constant lashing rain of that first alien environment sounds hypnotic.

Even better is the Inzone H5 with the best steam gamesbecause it comes with a handy wireless dongle with a switch to switch between “PS5 mode” and “PC mode”. Why the best pc games sounds a bit better on Sony’s wonderful headset? That’s because of the Inzone Hub App that has only gotten better with updates. This software allows you to play around with the EQ settings (great for boosting bass levels) while also allowing you to save custom profiles.

The only reason why I didn’t give the Sony Inzone H5 the full five stars in my test? In contrast to the much more expensive Sony Inzone H9which we consider to be one of the best gaming headsetsit lacks noise cancellation. Still, I wouldn’t let that omission stop me from buying the Inzone H5. It’s truly my favorite gaming headset of all time.
