Can you fast travel in Black Myth: Wukong?

Black Myth - Wukong Gameplay

While Black Myth: Wukong is perhaps not a full-fledged open-world game like Elden Ringit still has a fast travel system, and rightly so. Similar to Sekiro and the Dark Souls series, players can return to previously visited areas to complete unfinished content. This might include looting important items or defeating a difficult optional boss that was skipped due to repeated failures. This is where the fast travel mechanic becomes indispensable, as you don’t have to run halfway across the map.

How does fast travel work in Black Myth: Wukong?

Fast travel in Black Myth: Wukong works similarly to other Soulslike games. To use it, you first have to unlock various fast travel points and then you can teleport between them. This is how it works:

  1. Interact with a Keeper’s Shrine: Approach a Guardian’s shrine and press “E” or the corresponding key to offer incense.
    • Often you will notice a sparkling beam of light that will guide you there.
  2. Select travel option: Once you have sacrificed incense, select the “Travel” option. This will display all the regions you have unlocked.
  3. Select a region and a shrine: Select a region and then choose from the Keeper’s Shrines you have enabled in that region.
    • The first two Keeper Shrines you’ll come across are Front Hills and Outside the Forest, both in the Forest of Wolves region, the game’s starting area.
  4. Fast travel: Select the location you want to fast travel to and press the interact button. After a short loading screen, you will be instantly teleported to your selected location.

You can fast travel between any two Keeper’s Shrines as many times as you like without penalty or cost. The only downside is that all enemies will respawn every time you interact with a Keeper’s Shrine – but this happens regardless of whether you fast travel or not.
