Patch notes for “Escape From Tarkov” 0.15 add new boss, weapons and wipe

The patch notes for the Escape from Tarkov Update 0.15 has been released and includes many important additions to the game, including a brand new boss, a reworked factory map, and new hideouts.

Since the game was taken offline for the patch installation and wipe, the patch notes have been released and they contain many massive changes, with the promised major additions to Tarkov are the highlights. Partisan, the new boss found in forest areas on various maps, is one of the biggest new additions when it comes to what you will experience in raids, as he will hunt down PMCs with bad karma and try to take them out with tripwires and other traps

Speaking of trip wires, although players can use them, they don’t seem to be as annoying as we first thought. The trip wires only last for a certain amount of time, and depending on the grenade you use, there is a certain delay between hitting the wire and it detonating, so it might not be the instant death we first feared.

Elsewhere in the Tarkov Patch 1.1 will see a major overhaul of the Hideout, with new areas that can be unlocked as you progress through the game. The Gear Rack gives you an easy place to plan and quickly equip loadouts, while the Cultist Circle lets you sacrifice up to five items to receive a random item of similar value to the total value of your sacrifices.

The new weapons we knew were coming are here. The M60, Uzi and Desert Eagle are the frontrunners for new firearms. Bipods are now functional and you can mount appropriate weapons on surfaces for more control over the shot, which should be a big improvement.

As for maps, this patch also sees the release of the revamped Factory map, with an expanded layout for the lower tunnels and walkways above the main level of the map. It also has a very different look, which should make it easier to spot enemies compared to the sea of brown that the old version had.

The full patch notes also include things like improved AI, map-to-map travel, and many quality of life changes that will be welcomed by many Tarkov players. You will be able to play the patch when the servers come back up later today.

Of course, the new patch also brings with it a new wipe, where all players in PvP mode lose their progress and inventory and have to start over again. This puts all players on a level playing field and makes Tarkov feels like a brand new game again, so I’m excited to jump in and complete these opening missions for what is now the tenth time. However, the first few quests on the Ground Zero map will likely take some time over the next few days, considering how many players will be heading to these locations.
