Paramount series “1923” films episode in Bartlett

BARTLETT, Texas (KWTX) – Part of a second season episode of the Paramount television series “1923” was filmed in historic downtown Bartlett.

On Monday and Tuesday, parts of historic downtown Bartlett will be cordoned off and renovated to match the series’ old western setting.

The residents of Bartlett were thrilled to learn that their town would be featured in the Yellowstone prequel.

“I’m a huge Yellowstone fan and have seen the other shows, so it was kind of cool to have something like this happen here,” said Cari Wible, a business owner in Bartlett.

Businesses that use downtown filming locations for the shows have had to temporarily suspend operations. Cari Wible owns a wedding venue with three downtown filming locations. She said using her filming locations for the show will benefit her business.

“My business is all about being unique and giving people a great place to come,” Wible said. “And knowing that people can see my wedding venue on TV and say, ‘My wedding venue was on a TV show,’ is pretty awesome.”

Wible said the decision to film the show in Bartlett was good for the city.

“It’s unique and special and gives a little bit of exposure to someone who’s running a small business and trying to figure out how to make it all work. And any kind of extra attention or recognition like that is great,” Wible said.

Wible said the possibility of having her business location featured in a cult television series meant a lot to her.

“It’s unique and special and gives a little bit of exposure to someone who’s running a small business and trying to figure out how to make it all work. And any kind of extra attention or recognition like that is great,” Wible said.

The first season of “1923” can be streamed on Paramount+. Filming for the second season of the series will begin in July 2024.
