“The Daily Show” comes to the DNC in Chicago

The daily show is the opening night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Michael Kosta opened the show at the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture with an overview of Vice President Kamala Harris’s political plans for the next four days.

He noted that Tuesday’s theme is “A Bold Vision for America’s Future,” while Thursday’s theme is “For Our Future.”

“How can you have topics that are so vague and then still have no ideas on Thursday? It’s like The Fast and The Furious The movies ran out of different ways to express that the movies were going to be fast and furious,” he joked.

2 Fast 2 Furious, faster and even angrier And The fastest and most furious”, he added, some of them were real, some were not. “We got it, the car is humming.”

Many celebrities are expected to attend the DNC, including Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Mindy Kaling and Ana Navarro.

But news outlets repeated online rumors that a certain pop star couple might make an appearance.

“Did you hear that, a completely unfounded rumor about Taylor Swift and Beyonce? In the meantime, let’s be Ana Navarro and Tony Goldwyn. Why are our news reporters talking this shit? It feels like hosting a birthday when you’re 13 and saying, ‘My cousin says he knows Tony Hawk, so he might show up,'” he added.

Elsewhere in the show, Grace Kuhlenschmidt talked about reproductive health (“This week is all about genitalia”) and Jordan Klepper helps Tim Walz please the locals after he berated Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance for possibly not knowing what a runza is. “I go deep on the issues, like this city’s delicious and far better pizza,” Klepper told Kosta.

Later in the week, Desi Lydic hosts on Tuesday, Klepper hosts on Wednesday and Jon Stewart hosts live on Thursday following the event’s closing night.
