His military career boasts awards such as the Master Army Aviator Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. With his extensive training and flight certifications, including as a transport helicopter pilot and certified flight instructor, Patrick’s expertise and commitment to excellence in aviation are evident in every aspect of his career.

Sergeant Nick Olivo is an experienced law enforcement officer whose career has spanned multiple departments and roles. Since joining the Michigan State Police in 2013, Sergeant Olivo has made significant contributions as a patrol officer, tactical flight officer and pilot.

His journey from a person with no flying experience to an experienced rotary-wing pilot and safety officer for a unit is simply remarkable.

Prior to joining the Michigan State Police, Sergeant Olivo served with the Saginaw Police Department as a major case detective and field instructor and began his career with the Flint Police Department.

His commitment to the tactical flight officer role and passion for developing world-class candidates are central to his approach to airborne law enforcement.
