The father of a murdered seven-year-old Bronx girl sharply criticized authorities for dragging out the girl’s case for more than three years – the girl’s alleged murderous mother failed to appear at a scheduled hearing on Monday.

Navasia Jones, 37, further obstructed justice by refusing to leave a city corrections bus after being driven by Rikers Island officers to her scheduled appearance in Supreme Court in the Bronx.

“I don’t know what to say anymore. This is outrageous, this is crazy,” heartbroken father Julius Batties told the Post later on Monday.

“It makes me angry, it makes me sad,” Batties added. “It’s unbelievable. Three years and nothing? She’s in prison, but that’s nothing, that’s not justice. It’s as if she never murdered my daughter.”

After asking court officials several times on Monday whether Jones would be brought before the court, Bronx Supreme Court Judge Joseph McCormick finally adjourned the case until Wednesday.

The canceled court date came on the third anniversary of the discovery of little Julissia’s battered body by police on August 10, 2021, in Jones’ apartment in NYCHA’s Mitchell Houses complex.

The case shocked the Big Apple and sparked allegations that the city’s child welfare agency had abandoned the girl by returning her to her mother’s home, where there had been a history of known violence.

The delay is due in part to the fact that it took nearly a year after Julissia’s shocking death in June 2022 for police to arrest Jones and her son, Paul Fine Jr., 19, on charges of murder and manslaughter.

Batties called it “ridiculous” that his daughter’s alleged killers have been languishing in the city’s jails ever since without even a trial date being set.

Jones is now scheduled to appear in court with Fine Jr. Fine Jr. is accused of beating his half-sister Julissia to death and sexually abusing the child after repeatedly punching her in the stomach.

Jones is also accused of murder and is said to have lied to police by claiming the girl merely fell and hit her head on a table, prosecutors said.

A spokesman for Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark’s office said prosecutors plan to set a timeline as early as Wednesday to finally move the case forward.

“We are prepared to move the case forward with hearings and a trial,” the spokesman wrote in a statement, adding that the Crime Victims Assistance Bureau will provide assistance to Batties’ family for as long as they need it.

Fine Jr. recently hired a new private attorney, Maspeth-based Deveraux L. Cannick, court records show. A spokesman for the Bronx District Attorney’s Office said the change in attorney also contributed to the delay.

Batties’ father said he was more than frustrated that the case had dragged on for so long – and called on authorities to find a way to end his nightmare.

“I have to live with it every day. I can’t go on with my life because it’s still going on,” he told the Post.

“It’s like being trapped in a horror movie,” Batties said, adding, “Maybe something will happen on Wednesday.”
