Sure, Mets fans were, as usual, displeased with Haliey Welch’s first pitch, but the reception should be much warmer when the personality better known as “Hawk Tuah Girl” comes to St. Pete this month.

In case you’ve been living a completely secluded life, Welch captured the hearts and dirty minds of Americans last June when social media street interviewers Tim & Dee TV posted a video asking her, “What move in bed drives a man crazy every time?”

In her now typical Southern accent, the 22-year-old replied, “Oh, you have to give him that hawk-too and spit on the thing! You know what I mean?”

A nationwide manhunt ensued, as doomscrollers obsessed with her identity and memers remixed and shared “Hawk Tuah Girl,” leading to an infamous stunt.

Welch signed with an agency in July and has been omnipresent on the internet ever since, appearing on podcasts, on stage with country It Boy Zach Bryan, and even in Tampa in July at a boxing match with YouTuber Jake Paul.

The Tennessee native, who also uses her fame to help a Los Angeles homeless shelter for youth, has since amassed millions of followers on social media and, apparently, at party appearances. There’s even “Hawk Tuah” merchandise for sale.

Welch will perform Friday, Aug. 30, at Welcome To The Farm, 242 1st Ave. N in St. Petersburg, according to the venue owned by “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” singer Chase Rice.
