Julianne Hough may be the current host of Dancing with the starsbut during her time on the show as a judge and professional dancer, she reflected on a champion who she felt did not deserve the mirrorball trophy.

In a recent interview on See what’s happening live with Andy CohenThe 36-year-old revealed that radio presenter Bobby Bones should not have won the 27th season of the dance competition. The two-time Mirrorball champion shared this opinion as he sat next to the country singer, Mickey Guytonwho prefaced the answer with a whisper. Hough immediately responded, “Oh, I actually agree with you! And I think it’s because of the fandom, right? This show is all about the fandom… He wasn’t the best dancer, I agree.”

His victory alongside his dance partner Sharna Burgess was controversial because he received the lowest score from the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioliand the late Len Goodman. Despite his lack of dancing skills compared to other competitors such as Disney’s Milo Manheim and Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch, Bones expressed his Good housekeeping before his victory: “Of all the guys left, I’m the only one without really years of training… But I think that’s been my disadvantage all year, and we’ve found ways to exploit other aspects, you know, creatively.”

He added: “I think the judges’ ratings and critiques are fair. Honestly, I don’t think they want me to win. I think the judges want someone with more dance experience to win.”

DWTS will return. While the celebrity contestants have not yet been announced, Julianne Hough will return to co-host with her former Mirrorball champion. Alfonso Ribeiro. Looking back on their partnership, Ribeiro said: Entertainment tonight in 2023: “Our chemistry is going to be fantastic, I think. We’ve known each other for so long. She was a judge on my season… We’ve known each other for years and our energy just feels so right.” The jury includes 56-year-old Carrie Ann, 68-year-old British-Italian choreographer Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.
