Tether USDT joins Aptos Blockchain for ultra-low-cost transactions

  • Tether has launched USDT on the Aptos blockchain to take advantage of its speed and scalability.
  • The integration greatly reduces gas fees, making transactions cost-effective.

Holding strap Operations Limited, an influential digital asset company, proposes the issuance of US dollar-pegged Tether (USDT) tokens on the Aptos Network. This initiative aims to increase the accessibility and utility of digital currencies by leveraging Aptos’ superior blockchain infrastructure, known for its speed and scalability.

The Aptos network has undergone extraordinary development, with the number of daily active users increasing from 96,000 in January to 170,000 in July 2024. In May 2024, a record-breaking 157 million transactions were processed in a single day, proving the network’s flexibility. Integrating Tether into this ecosystem aims to capitalize on these advantages and provide users with the benefits of Tether’s reliable digital currency on a highly efficient platform.

Tether collaboration improves global accessibility

The debut of USDT on Aptos offers significant cost savings through incredibly low gas fees that cost just a fraction of a cent per transaction. This capability makes it economically viable for a wide range of applications, including microtransactions and large enterprise flows.

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, expressed his delight at the collaboration, citing Aptos’ unique technology as a key enabler for faster and cheaper transactions. Mo Shaikh, CEO of Aptos Labs, called the integration a milestone for the network and expects it to push the boundaries of blockchain technology for consumers worldwide.

This collaborative alliance between Holding strap and Aptos aims to set new blockchain standards by combining the reliability of Tether with Aptos’ technological capabilities to improve speed, cost-effectiveness, and global access.

Meanwhile, in July, Nansen has collaborated with the Aptos Foundation to improve on-chain data and analytics for the Aptos ecosystem. Bashar Lazaar of Aptos made the following statement: “Bringing top data providers into Aptos will help builders and projects leverage on-chain data to drive value for their communities.”
