Shocking footage shows the attacker pointing a gun at Leo, the girl’s father, as he approaches the counter at Big Discount Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota.

Leo said he was closing up his store around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday when the man came in and strolled through the store.

The thug allegedly grabbed a bottle of alcohol and brought it to the cash register, the Star Tribune reported.

On camera, he was seen wearing some sort of Amazon uniform, reaching into his pocket and placing a realistic-looking air rifle on the counter.

“He put the gun on the table and asked me to give him all the money and everything from the register,” Leo told CBS News Minnesota.

The store owner said he tried to negotiate with the apparently armed robber by offering him all the cash in the register in return for ensuring his daughter’s safety.

He said: “I tried to talk to him and tell him, ‘My daughter is here. Can you put the gun down and take it away from her? I will give you everything and take everything.’

“It’s about money, I don’t care, I only care about your safety.”

Nevertheless, the man went behind the counter with the gun in his hand, which led to an argument with Leo.

The father immediately tried to fend him off, hit the attacker and wrestled him to the ground.

The protective parent explained, “I am a father, I will not allow this.”

But just a few moments later, Leo’s young daughter is caught on camera rushing to his aid with the baseball bat.

She hits the attacker several times while he wrestles with her father on the ground.

According to the Star Tribune, Leo eventually managed to take the gun from the would-be robber, and he fled without the weapon or money.

“I’m so proud of her, she’s so strong,” proud father Leo told CBS News.

The store manager admitted that it was only when he saw the surveillance footage that he realized she was trying to help him.

He said: “When I saw the video, I didn’t expect her to do that.

“I expected a little girl who cries and screams.”

Shortly after the attack, police noticed the suspect with blood on his lips and a cut under one eye.

Police identified him as Conchobhar Morrell, 37, of St. Paul, Minnesota.

He insisted he had not been in the store and claimed he was only in the area to go to a nearby tobacco shop.

Morrell also claimed that his facial injuries had reopened after he sustained them in a fight two days earlier.

An Amazon spokesman said Morrell was working as a delivery driver for a third-party company, delivering products for Amazon.

He will be “dismissed immediately,” the spokesman added.

Because he is not required to post $40,000 bail before his court date on Friday, Morrell is currently in jail on a charge of attempted first-degree aggravated robbery.

In 2004, he was found guilty of first-degree robbery in Minnesota.
