Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane star in Nathan Silver’s new film

Joanna Sternberg has returned for the upcoming film “A Country Dance” Between the temples.

The track – dedicated to Sternberg’s friend Sami Bronowski – is a charming acoustic ditty full of stunning lyrics about drinking wine and dancing under the stars. “The joke of the song is: I don’t dance, I don’t drink wine, I don’t go outside and I DEFINITELY don’t go into nature (allergies and insect phobias),” Sternberg said in a hilarious statement. “But I wanted a playful, nonsensical song to sing and capture the fun I have with my lovely buddy.”

Between the templesdirected by Nathan Silver and starring Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane, hits theaters August 23. In the film, Schwartzman plays a cantor struggling with his faith, while Kane plays his elementary school music teacher who re-enters his life.

“I think the reason the song fits in this beautiful film is because it has a sense of free imagination,” Sternberg said. “The lyrics are vague enough to be applied to anything, and it just creates a ‘fun and lighthearted’ mood!”

Sternberg posted a video on her Instagram account in which Schwartzman talks about the song: “It’s the song that closes our film. Between the templesand (I) couldn’t be more honored to be associated with this piece of music in my own way, and I hope you love it as much as I do.”

Last summer, Sternberg released their second album, I have … myself. “I’ve been keeping these songs in secret and hoping for something like this,” they told Rolling Stone. “This is an album that says, ‘I can finally do this! This is my dream come true, and I’m doing it, this is me!'”
