Weddings and everything related to them are always emotional for almost everyone involved in the ceremony. Yes, weddings mark the beautiful beginning for the happy couple. However, standing at the altar and exchanging vows with that special someone also means ending other parts of a person’s life.

This is probably why father and daughter surprised their guests with the ceremonial father-daughter dance, to revive a sweet childhood memory. It was an opportunity for them to enjoy a moment that was obviously special and meant a lot to the bride and her father.

In a clip posted on social media, it all starts off as you would expect from a typical father-daughter dance, but just moments later, things take a completely different turn. The music stops and a different tune begins: “Let’s Hear It for The Boy.”

The young woman and her father then recreate a dance from the popular 1980s film “Footloose,” which starred Kevin Bacon. When the guests realize what the two are doing, they start screaming and applauding wildly to cheer the father and daughter on.

However, the bride and her father strutting around the dance floor aren’t the only things you can see in the clip. Behind them, a TV screen shows a video of the dancing duo doing the same moves together in a dance performance when the bride was just seven years old.

After their moment went viral, Dad hilariously admitted in an interview that he only wanted to accomplish two things during their surprise dance.

“When I was out there, I had two things in mind – two goals,” he said. “The first was not to forget any steps, and the second was not to get hurt.”

Psalms 149:3 “They should praise his name in dance and sing to him with brass and string instruments.”
