Woman dies after wrong-way driver head-on collision in Columbus, Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person was killed in a head-on collision in the wrong lane in east Columbus early Monday morning.

According to Columbus Police, a red sedan was traveling the wrong way on East Livingston Avenue near the intersection with South Hamilton Road and may not have had its headlights on. At the same time, a blue sedan was traveling in the opposite direction in its corresponding lane when the blue sedan collided head-on with it.

The driver of the blue sedan, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:38 a.m. The driver of the red sedan was taken to hospital in critical condition, while a third person was also taken to hospital in critical condition.

Another victim is in stable condition following the accident. The accident is still under investigation. East Livingston Avenue has been closed since 5 a.m.
