Bradshaw was a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL) and led the team to four Super Bowl championships in 1975, 1976, 1979 and 1980.

A highly-rated recruit in college football, he attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, where he broke all of the school’s major passing records during his four years there.

He was selected first overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970 NFL Draft.

Bradshaw became the Steelers’ full-time starting quarterback in his second season in Pittsburgh and led the team to the first of eight consecutive playoff appearances in 1972.

Although the team was successful, Bradshaw had problems with passing accuracy and was demoted to backup quarterback at the beginning of the 1974 season.

However, he regained his starting position and played a crucial role in the team’s four Super Bowl victories.

Bradshaw’s leadership on the field and powerful throwing arm were instrumental in the Steelers’ success in their championship season.

In the 1974 AFC Championship Game against the Oakland Raiders, his fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Lynn Swann proved to be the deciding factor in a 24-7 victory.

Bradshaw was named All-Pro four times, selected to the Pro Bowl three times, and received the Bert Bell Award as Player of the Year in 1978.

He was also named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player twice, in Super Bowls XIII and XIV.
