The eagerly awaited Tokyo〜the city of music and love〜, with the award-winning Japanese actor and singer, Yu Shirotatakes place on Esplanade Theatre To 22 June 2024.

The show is produced, co-directed and stars Shirota, who is best known for his chart-topping albums.Wedding‘ (2020) and ‘a singer‘ (2018), as well as for his role as Kagurazaka Makoto in the Japanese action drama Hana Kimiand Tuxedo Mask in the Sailor Moon musicals.

At its premiere in SingaporeShirota and his star ensemble will capture the liveliness and charm of Tokyo brought to life through a captivating and fantastical mix of multilingual, family-friendly song and dance performances ranging from J-Pop to Disney classics to Broadway hits, including Shirota’s own renditions of popular musical songs such as “On My Own” by The Misérables and “The shadows are getting longer” from Elizabeth.

The exciting new production features an all-star cast including Kahori Kanayaknown for creating spectacular shows for Japan’s leading theme park, which is Yu Shirota as co-director. The music for the show comes from the popular Japanese R&B singer SWEEPand the audience can look forward to special guest appearances by style icon and J-pop star miwaAnd Singapore’s award-winning actor, pop star and local heartthrob, Nathan Hartono. They are joined by J-pop stars, RIOSKE (Peruvian pines), Yuzu (FYURA PROJECT) and emerging talents, Rainy. plus a troupe of dynamic dancers, including Kaoru Harada, Shunsuke Omura (AVOID), Nao UsuiBOXER And Tuki Takamura.

Tokyo〜the city of music and love〜 starts in Japanand runs from 14 to 19 May at the Tokyo Theater Orb, Tokyobefore making his debut in Singapore in June.
