An 8-year-old girl in the United States recently managed to prevent a robbery at her father’s liquor store after she repeatedly hit the man with a baseball bat. According to the New York PostThe little girl confronted the would-be robber – identified as 37-year-old Amazon employee Conchobhar Morrell – after he entered the Big Discount Liquor store in Minnesota on Saturday night and pulled out what appeared to be a gun. “He put the gun on the table and asked me to give him all the money and everything in the register. I told him, ‘Yes – I’ll give you everything,'” said the girl’s father, identified only as Leo.

According to the postWhile the clerk struggled to get the cash, the suspect, wearing an Amazon uniform, allegedly attempted to rush behind the counter where the girl was standing. The father immediately intervened, quickly punching Morrell and wrestling him to the ground. The girl, on the other hand, armed herself with a baseball bat and repeatedly struck the suspect while the father attempted to restrain the suspect.

In conversation with CBS NewsThe father said he didn’t even know his daughter had intervened until he watched surveillance video afterward. “I’m so proud of her, she’s so strong,” he said. “That day, I just wanted to cry. When I saw the video, I didn’t expect her to do that. I expected a little girl crying and screaming,” he added.

The alleged robber eventually fled the store but was later arrested, police said. Morrell was charged with attempted first-degree aggravated robbery for the incident. Police said the firearm the man appeared to be carrying turned out to be a pellet gun.

An Amazon spokesman said the 37-year-old worked as a delivery driver for a third-party company. After his arrest, he would be “immediately dismissed from service,” the spokesman said.

In a similar incident last year, an 11-year-old girl cleverly escaped from an armed robber using a loaf of bread. The incident occurred in England, where a robber approached a cashier with a knife and demanded money from the till. However, the girl’s brave reaction changed the outcome of the attempted robbery.
