Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza announces the opening of a second location in Tulsa

LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwired – Feb. 20, 2017) – Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza, the fast-casual artisan pizza concept known for its chef-designed menu and casual-hip restaurants, today announced that Oklahoma restaurateur David Ostrowe and Arkansas restaurateur Dominic Flis will soon open their second location in Tulsa on Thursday, February 23. To celebrate the grand opening, the Tulsa restaurant will be offering FREE build-your-own pizza to anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, February 24. The highly anticipated restaurant, featuring a 2,000-square-foot interior with seating for 52 and an additional 46 on an outdoor patio, is located at 3722 S. Peoria Ave., near Trader Joe’s. Blaze first opened in Oklahoma City (2410 W. Memorial Rd) near Lowe’s in October 2015, and a second location in Tulsa opened in July 2016 at 8115 S. Olympia Ave West.

Blaze Pizza is a modern “pizzeria” serving artisan pizzas that are both fast and affordable. Since opening its first restaurant in 2012, Blaze has quickly become one of the hottest restaurant concepts in the country. Fans line up every day to enjoy its custom-designed pizzas, freshly made salads, blood orange lemonade and s’more pies. Each restaurant features an interactive open kitchen format where guests can customize one of the menu’s signature pizzas or create their own, choosing from a wide variety of fresh, artisanal ingredients – all for around $8. The generously sized individual pizzas are then sent to a blazing hot open flame oven – the heart of the restaurant – where dedicated pizza chefs ensure the thin-crust pizzas are baked quickly and are ready to eat in just 180 seconds. Restaurants make their own dough from scratch using a recipe from critically acclaimed chef Bradford Kent (the “Pizza Whisperer”) that requires a 24-hour fermentation period to achieve its signature light, airy, crispy crust. Almost all pizza and salad ingredients are free of artificial flavors, colors, preservatives and fillers, and for pizza fans with special dietary needs, Blaze Pizza offers gluten-free dough and vegan cheese. The new Tulsa restaurant will also offer a selection of wine and draft beer.

“Our mission at Blaze is simple: to take pizza back to its roots,” said Jim Mizes, President and COO of Blaze Pizza. “By making the dough ourselves, carefully selecting the ingredients and baking it over a fire, we offer our guests a great way to enjoy artisan pizza without the wait. This is changing the way people think about and eat pizza.”

Blaze’s obsessive attention to detail extends well beyond the food and includes a carefully considered, modern approach to restaurant design. Driven by his commitment to “Making Smart Choices for Our Pizzas, People and the Planet,” the restaurant is built from recycled and sustainable materials, uses eco-friendly packaging and features energy-efficient LED lighting. Additionally, many of the restaurant’s unconventional design elements were inspired by the company’s appreciation for individual expression.

Blaze Pizza is excited to continue to plant strong roots in the community. To that end, the company has developed a turnkey restaurant donation program that will give 20% of an event’s proceeds back to local organizations. Additionally, the company will partner with local schools, sports clubs and other organizations to host fundraising events at the new restaurant.
