The original anime show, based on the manga of the same name, centers on high school students competing in the BLUELOCK program to become the world’s best soccer striker and lead the Japanese men’s national team to victory in the World Cup.

However, exclusion from the program means the end of their career, as they can never play for the national team again.

In the film, Nagi enters “a world he never knew” when he is invited to the BLUELOCK project and his extraordinary abilities are discovered.

The synopsis reads: “‘This is a nuisance.’ That was high school second-grader Nagi Seishiro’s favorite saying as he lived his boring life. Until Mikage Reo, a classmate who dreamed of winning the World Cup, discovered Nagi’s hidden talent and inspired him to play soccer and share his outstanding talent.
