Two suspected vandals have stated that they are able to remove the concussion from any vehicle in less than two minutes.

The suspects, Jefferson Emeka Joshua, 47, and Donatus Okoro, 45, were arrested by Detectives of the Lagos State Police Command.

Their arrest followed a series of complaints to the state police commissioner about the activities of unknown thieves who specialize in destroying vehicles parked on the side of the road in residential areas.

Following the complaint, Police Commissioner Adegoke Fayoade commissioned an elite team of investigators to track down those behind the theft.

In their confessions to police, the suspects admitted to removing concussions from several vehicles in the area.

“It is easier to remove the brain unit of a car than any other part. In fact, it takes less than two minutes to remove the brain unit of a vehicle,” Donatus told his investigating police officers during questioning.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos State Police, confirmed the arrest of two members of the gang and said the suspects were specialists in damaging vehicles.

He said that on August 3, detectives tracked Jefferson Emeka Joshua to his hideout at Ilewe junction in Ikotun area of ​​Lagos.

“Through his confession, Donatus Okoro was also traced to his hideout on Idowu Street in Ajegunle, from where he was arrested.”

“Both suspects confessed to the crime and their police vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration number FKL 260 JJ Lagos, a police cap and a handcuff were recovered. “Efforts to arrest other members of the syndicate are intensifying,” he added.
