• To delete individual contacts: Open the chat > ​​tap the contact name at the top > select the three-dot menu and choose “Delete contact”.
• Bulk delete contacts: Go to Telegram Settings > Privacy and security > Delete synced contacts > Disable contact sync > Delete contacts.

1. Deleting a single Telegram contact

Step 1: Open the Telegram app on your Android.

Step 2: Tap the Hamburger menu top left and select Contacts.

Step 3: Now find and tap the account you want to delete, then click on the contact’s profile.

Step 4: Now tap on the three points in the upper right corner and select Delete contact.

We recommend deleting the chat before deleting the contact.

Step 5: Choose Delete on the prompt that appears.

That’s it! The contact is removed from the Telegram contact list. Do you want to remove all synced contacts at once? Read the next section.

How to delete all Telegram contacts

Step 1: Open the Telegram app and tap the Hamburger menu in the upper left corner.

Step 2: Go to Settings and tap Data protection and security.

Step 3: Under Contacts, tap Delete synchronized contacts and select Delete in the command prompt.

That’s it. All synced Telegram contacts will be removed from your Android device. However, these contacts will still remain in your Android contact list, which means they can be synced again if you haven’t disabled syncing with your phone’s contact list. Here’s how to do it:

Disable contact synchronization on Telegram

Step 1: Open the Telegram app and tap the Hamburger menu.

Step 2: Go to Settings and tap Data protection and security.

Step 3: Under Contacts, deactivate Synchronize contact.

Deleting a single contact from Telegram

Step 1: Open the Telegram app and go to Contacts tab.

Step 2: Tap the search bar to find the contact you want to delete.

Step 3: Go to the details page and tap User avatar in the upper right corner.

Step 4: Now go to Editchoose Delete contactand tap Completed.

Step 5: Finally, select Delete contact for confirmation.

That’s all. The contact you deleted will be removed from Telegram’s contact book. To remove all contacts at once, see the next section.

Delete multiple Telegram contacts at once

Step 1: Open the Telegram app and go to Settings tab.

Step 2: Knock Data protection and security and go to Data settings.

Step 3: Knock Delete synchronized contacts.

In addition, you can directly disable contact sync on Telegram with an iPhone to avoid contact syncing or notification completely.

How to unlink Telegram contacts from iPhone

Note: If you delete synced contacts, you will only lose access to the synced Telegram contacts, not your phone contacts.

Step 1: Open the Telegram app and go to Settings tab.

Step 2: Knock Data protection and security and go to Data settings.

Step 3: Under Contacts, deactivate Synchronize contacts.

Deleting a single Telegram contact on a PC

Step 1: Open the Telegram Desktop App and click on the Hamburger menu in the upper left corner.

Step 2: Go to Contacts.

Step 3: Now find the contact you want to remove from Telegram and tap on the profile.

Step 4: Go to the contact’s profile and click Delete contact.

Step 5: Choose Delete in the confirmation prompt.

That’s all. You can use Telegram Desktop and Telegram Web for this. Note that deleting a contact from the app will not remove their phone number and other details from your phone’s contact list.

To remove a contact from the phone’s contact list, you need to follow the traditional method of deleting contacts from the phone.

Delete multiple contacts via PC or Mac

You cannot delete multiple contacts on Telegram desktop, so we will use Telegram Web to do this. Let’s move on.

Step 1: Open Telegram Web using the link below.

Step 2: Log in to your account and click on the Hamburger menu in the upper left corner.

Step 3: Now click on Switch to older version.

Step 4: Then click Contacts.

Step 5: Choose Edit and select the contacts you want to remove from Telegram.

Step 8: Now click on Delete and confirm it.

Done. You have removed unwanted contacts using Telegram Web.

There are many ways to delete your Telegram contacts one by one or all at once. Also, it is better to disable the option to sync Telegram contacts with your phone to avoid deleting the same contact repeatedly.
