Voters can also vote by mail, but the deadline to request a postal ballot has passed.

Florida has closed primaries, which means that in most cases you must already be registered with a particular party to vote in one of that party’s primaries.

However, the primary also includes numerous races which is open to all votersregardless of party affiliation. These include school board and judicial elections as well as races for certain local offices.

In addition, in races where all candidates belong to a party and there are no independent or registered candidates, the party primaries is open to all votersbecause the primary election decides the incumbent.

You can find your sample ballot paper, which shows you in which elections you are eligible to vote, on the website of the election officer in your district (link below).

Duval County Elections Supervisor Jerry Holland addressed some voter concerns about incorrect markings on the ballot.

“The reality is this: If for some reason there is an incorrect mark that prevents your ballot from being counted, your ballot will be rejected and you will be given the opportunity to correct it,” Holland explained. “There is nothing that can prevent the votes of the elections you voted for from being counted, especially if you don’t know it.”

Eligible voters can vote at any early voting location in their county. You must bring one or two valid forms of identification that include your signature and a photograph.

Acceptable forms of identification include:
