New Jersey American Water customers in Little Falls and Woodland Park are being advised to boil their water after the company reported its second water main break in three days.

An initial warning was lifted Saturday morning, but another notification came six hours later when a 6-inch pipe burst on Overlook Avenue in Little Falls, the company said.

The issue affects customers in the Great Notch neighborhood in Little Falls and those between the former Morris Canal and the NJ Transit railroad in Woodland Park. Customers should boil their tap water for at least one minute and let it cool before using it.

The second incident occurred one block east of the first incident and was reported on Notchcroft Drive on Thursday afternoon.

The new warning will remain in place until the pipe is repaired and tests show the water is safe to drink.
