Automata Ver1.1a Episode #19 Release Date and Time

Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode 18 was much slower than some of the newer episodes, but it was still a good episode that laid the foundation for Episode #19 and beyond. Even though not much happened in the plot, it was great to see what it did to the characters, especially since a lot of it wasn’t in the original game.

In Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode #18: 9S and A2 have woken up after the destruction of YoRHa, but their physical and mental wounds have not yet fully healed. What happened in Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode 18?

Produced by A-1 Pictures; Directed by Kosuke Madoka

In Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode No. 18, “End of childhood”, A2 awoke in Pascal’s village and a broken filter left her too weak to walk under her own power. While she was there, all the machine lifeforms tried to bond with A2 and care for her, with some even considering her a sister, but A2 refused to get along with them due to her past trauma. That being said, A2 accepted that Pascal’s village was pacifist and therefore decided not to kill herwhich Pascal took as a sign that A2 is a good person.

Eventually, salvation came for A2 in the form of Lily, the two meeting for the first time since A2 was still in YoRHa. Lily brought A2 to the resistance camp to give her a new filter, and all the while A2 couldn’t believe that Lily would work with machine lifeforms after everything they had been through. Lily said that while she still hated machine lifeforms, she could accept that Pascal was different and suggested that A2 do the same, especially since Pascal was the one who built the new filter of A2but A2 remained skeptical as her story came to an end.

While this was happening, 9S also awoke in the resistance camp, long before A2 was brought there, and although still injured, 9S left the camp, remembering A2 killing 2B in what he believed was cold blood. 9S’ already fragile mental state was further worsened as he witnessed all the death and destruction the final battle had caused, and as he continued to break down, 9S again vowed to destroy A2 and all machine life forms to avenge the death of 2Bthe episode ends on this dark note.

The latest episode of Nier: Automata focuses on the core theme of the franchise

A2 is supplied by the machine life forms

Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode #18 focused much more on character development than previous episodes, and that was in large part because the focus was on Pascal’s village. Once again, the viewer is reminded that they are a strange collection of machine lifeforms that abhor violence and try to imitate humanity to the best of their ability, and with everything that has just happened in the series, Nier: Automata Ver1.1aReturning to Pascal’s village was a good reminder that machine life forms are much more complicated than they seem.

All this is of course in line with the themes of both Nier: Automata and the overarching Drakengard Franchise. No matter which game, any story related to Drakengard draws attention to the question of what constitutes a person’s humanity or lack thereofand A2’s constant wrestling with the idea that Pascal’s villagers can be more than heartless machines is a perfect continuation of that. Hopefully the anime will have more of that in future episodes, because moments like these are where the script always shines.

Nier: Automata slows things down to great effect

A2 looks confused

Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode #18 was completely actionless, but it was not lacking. Not only was there plenty of comedy from Pascal’s village, but the way Nier: AutomataThe anime of 9S was expanded and the scenes from the game of A2 did a lot to give the characters more depthanother example of the anime’s great handling of the source material. A slow episode like episode no. 18 was the perfect palate cleanser for Nier: Automata Ver1.1aThe recent string of heavy episodes and episodes 19 and beyond will be even better because of it.

Must watch Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode #19 when it drops on Friday, August 23rd.
