NASCAR Cup Series Free Stream Today for FireKeepers Casino 400

BROOKLYN, Michigan – The NASCAR Cup Series comes to Michigan today for the FireKeepers Casino 400. The biggest of the weekend’s three races at Michigan International Speedway will see drivers rev their engines and be ready for the 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time start on the USA Network.

Several streaming services are broadcasting the race live and you can watch it on Fubo (free trial), DirecTV Stream (free trial), and Sling (promotional offers).

Fans can also catch the Sunday action on Peacock, starting at $7.99 per month.

Sunday’s race was a bit more interesting after Austin Dillon’s controversial win last week at Richmond. The Chevy driver destroyed Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano on the final lap to win the race.

Dillon, who was outside the top 30 before last week’s race, had his automatic playoff entry revoked by NASCAR to punish him for the accident. But Hamlin and Logano may not be satisfied yet.

Here is more background information from the Associated Press on the revocation of Dillon’s playoff spot:

However, Austin Dillon’s automatic starting spot in the NASCAR playoffs was stripped of his place – but he retained his win at Richmond Raceway – after the driver was found to have “gone too far” in his intentional final-lap crash with drivers Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin.

Dillon won the Cup Series for the first time in nearly two years on Sunday night, but the checkered flag seemed out of reach before he spun Logano out of the way and then sent Hamlin into the wall – all in the final few seconds.

Logano and Hamlin railed against Dillon’s aggressiveness, and the spectacular finish sparked days of controversy in NASCAR.

NASCAR said Wednesday that Dillon “committed actions detrimental to the sport of stock car racing” when he was removed from the 16-driver field. The field is still to be finalized with three Cup Series races starting Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.

Elton Sawyer, senior vice president of competition, said NASCAR considered suspending Dillon for his conduct. Dillon and the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing team also received a 25-point deduction in the driver and owner standings. Dillon dropped from 26th to 31st in the driver standings.

Dillon’s spotter, Brandon Benesch, was suspended for three races for yelling “Wreck him!” over the radio as the driver battled with Hamlin on the home stretch.

“The most important thing is that we make sure we protect the integrity of the playoffs and our championship when we get to Phoenix,” Sawyer said.

RCR announced it would appeal and expressed its “very disappointed” with NASCAR’s decision on social media.

From NASCAR’s perspective, Dillon’s moves went beyond the tough racing ethos that has been part of the Cup Series’ DNA since its inception in 1948.
