Strictly’s Oti Mabuse shares adorable dance update about his daughter

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse told us how she puts her daughter to sleep in an enchanting way.

The dancer and her husband Marius Iepure had a little girl in December – and their seven-month-old daughter is already dancing.

During an appearance on The One Show earlier this week, Oti was asked about a video she posted on social media in which she is seen dancing while her daughter is wrapped in a red scarf.

“Believe it or not, I made the video to get her to sleep,” Oti explained. “I wanted to train, but every time I tried to put her down, she wouldn’t fall asleep, she would just look at me.”

“So I thought, ‘Okay, girls, let’s go, let’s do this together.’ And it was incredible. Now I enjoy dancing with her.”

When her daughter turned six months old last month, the professional dancer wrote: “Today marks six months since our little miracle entered the world, defying all odds with her premature arrival.

“Being a mother to a premature baby has been a journey full of ups and downs, but oh, the beauty in every moment!”

Oti continued to praise her daughter’s “strength and resilience,” adding: “She has taught me more about love, courage and gratitude than I ever thought possible.”

The “Dancing On Ice” judge recently spoke openly about expanding her family, saying she wants to have “as many” children as she can “afford”.

“What I went through shocked me, but it made me even stronger. You can imagine how ambitious I am as a mother if I am ambitious at work,” she said.

Be sure to come and dance will return to BBC One later this year, while the spin-off Strictly speaking: It takes two is broadcast on weekdays on BBC Two. Both shows can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
