Oklahoma High School Football 2024 Class 6A-I Preseason Rankings

Here are Oklahoma’s high school football teams in Class 6A-I, ranked first through 16.

Last season’s records are listed in parentheses.

1.Bixby (13-0): The Spartans will look to remain the best in Class 6A-I. Bixby’s top returning stars include junior tight end and linebacker Cord Nolan, who had 23 receptions for 632 yards and 10 touchdowns last year, and senior offensive lineman and Auburn commit Broderick Shull. Bixby has won championships in nine of the last 10 seasons. The Spartans moved up from Class 6A-II in 2022 and have won titles in their two seasons in Class 6A-I.

2. Jenks (8-5): The Trojans have another talented group after advancing to the state championship game last season. They have several Division I prospects, including junior running back Kaydin Jones, a four-star 247Sports Composite recruit who posted 1,280 rushing yards, 710 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns last year.

3. Tulsa Union (10-2): Led by star quarterback Shaker Reisig, who has committed to Boston College, the Redhawks will try to win their first championship since 2016.

4. Owatonna (9-3): The Rams have a new head coach in Antonio Graham, who was promoted from defensive coordinator following the resignation of Bill Blankenship. Owasso’s strengths include its offensive line, led by Blake Cherry, a senior from Arkansas, and Ryker Haff, a senior from Oklahoma State.

5. Norman North (9-3): With star senior and South Dakota State freshman Owen Eshelman at quarterback and the return of junior Mason James as one of the state’s best receivers, the Timberwolves should have a great offense.

6. Deer Creek (9-3): The Antlers face a difficult transition as they move from Class 6A-II to 6A-I, but they have one of the state’s best quarterbacks in Grady Adamson, who recently committed to Georgia Tech.

7. Mustangs (6-5): The Broncos will look to improve on a season that ended with a 43-38 loss to Westmoore in the first round of the playoffs. One player to keep an eye on is junior receiver Jaden Johnson, the younger brother of OU defensive back Jacobe Johnson.

8. Edmond Santa Fe (7-4): The Wolves had a 1-9 record in 2022 but turned things around last year, thanks in large part to the outstanding season of running back Demarius Robinson, who is entering his senior year and is under contract with Arizona State.

9. Broken Arrow (3-8): The Tigers struggled last year, losing to Norman 21-18 in the first round of the playoffs. They were a young team, starting with 26 sophomores and six freshmen, so they will have more experience this season.

10. Moore (4-6): The Lions missed the playoffs last season, and with more than 30 seniors on the team, including quarterback Malikai Miller, Moore will look to bounce back.
