The Las Vegas Raiders will have no problems using WR Tre Tucker this season

The Las Vegas Raiders are overhauling nearly every aspect of their offense ahead of next season.

Last season, the Raiders had one of the highest-paid offenses in the National Football League, only to be paired with an outdated, rarely successful offensive scheme. Although the offense had undeniable talent at many key positions on the field, the lack of a cohesive offensive plan and arguably even worse plays hampered the Raiders offense all season.

While the Raiders defense is expected to be one of the best in the NFL this season, the offense is a whole different caliber and is expected to be significantly less. However, with the defense having high potential, the Raiders offense only needs to play slightly better than last season, which shouldn’t be too difficult.

Coach Antonio Pierce analyzed the team’s most pressing needs this offseason and realized that the team desperately needed a competent offensive coordinator. Along with defensive lineman Christian Wilkins, the addition of offensive coordinator Luke Getsy could be the Raiders’ most significant offseason signing.

Getsy’s arrival has already improved the Raiders’ offense, as quarterback Aidan O’Connell and wide receiver Tre Tucker, who has been with the Raiders for two years, have already shown they will benefit from Getsy’s offensive scheme and plays. Tucker played in 16 games last season and recorded 19 pass catches for 331 yards. Tucker recorded five catches for 139 yards in two preseason games this season. He will undoubtedly be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Getsy’s arrival.

“I love it,” Tucker said. “I actually talked to my coach about it a couple weeks ago and went over the comparison between this year and last year. This year we know where I’m going to be. So that’s great. I really like it because of the scheme and how we play as a receiver group. It’s tighter. That makes it hard for the defense to keep up with us and I’m really excited for Week 1.”

As the Raiders begin their first season under Coach Pierce, they will need to continue to make strides on offense in the coming weeks. It’s pretty predictable how the Raiders defense will play this season. If Getsy can make the most of Tucker and the offense’s play, a playoff spot isn’t out of the question.
