In a surprising twist, Attack on Titan fans who thought the series had ended with the final episode of season four on November 5, 2023, were faced with an unexpected announcement.
With the release date of Attack on Titan: The Last Attack confirmed, viewers can look forward to an epic, feature-length experience that will take them back to Hajime Isayama’s dark fantasy series.
“The Last Attack” was announced during Attack Fes 2024, the event celebrating the 10th anniversary of “Attack on Titan,” and will soon be released in Japanese theaters.
Studio MAPPA will lead the production and bring the exciting finale of the series to the screen.
What is Attack on Titan?
Attack on Titan is a globally acclaimed Japanese manga and anime series created by Hajime Isayama. The manga began serialization in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine on September 9, 2009, and ended on April 9, 2021.
Set in a world where humanity is imprisoned within three colossal walls to protect it from giant, man-eating humanoids called Titans, the story follows Eren Yeager, a young boy who vows vengeance after the Titans destroy his hometown and kill his mother.
An anime adaptation produced by Wit Studio for seasons 1 to 3 and MAPPA for season 4, airing between April 7, 2013 and November 5, 2023.
What is Attack on Titan: The Last Attack?
Attack on Titan The Last Attack is a feature-length film that retells the conclusion of the fourth and final season of the anime.
The focus is on the decisive events in which the Survey Corps races against time to stop Eren Yeager, who has triggered the “Rumble” – a cataclysmic event that threatens to destroy the world, sparing only the island of Paradis.
The film has a running time of 145 minutes and features enhanced visual effects to enhance the intense finale.
At Attack Fes, director Yuichiro Hayashi revealed that he originally planned the final episodes of the series as a full-length film. The Last Attack realizes that vision and is the ultimate way to experience the conclusion of the series.

The film Attack on Titan will premiere in Japanese cinemas on 8 November 2024.
