Actors KJ Apa and Eric Dane star in “One Fast Move,” which premieres worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on August 8, 2024.

The synopsis is: Wes Neal (KJ Apa), a young man with a passion for speed, is kicked out of the military for participating in motorcycle drag racing.

With nowhere else to go and a desire to become a professional racer, he seeks out his estranged father Dean Miller (Eric Dane), a former motorcycle racing champion, as his trainer.

Wes gets a job at the motorcycle shop of Dean’s old mentor Abel (Edward James Olmos) and meets local waitress Camila (Maia Reficco), with whom he falls in love.

When he begins training with his father, old wounds are reopened as Dean puts enormous pressure on his son to be the best, which puts a strain on all other relationships in Wes’ life.

Kelly Blatz, the writer and director of this gripping action film, excels in all areas (as a filmmaker, screenwriter and director).

Wes must now decide for himself what he wants for the future and what is ultimately worth losing in order to achieve the big victory on the racetrack.

KJ Apa steals the spotlight in every scene he’s in as Wes, he conveys his emotions well and has great chemistry with Maia Reficco as Camila. Apa has some powerful scenes with Eric Dane that really tug at your heartstrings.

Edward James Olmos delivers an impressive performance as Abel, while Adam Thomas Ziemba is a revelation as Leo in a truly breakout role.

The verdict

Overall, One Fast Move is an adrenaline-pumping, pulse-pounding action film from start to finish. Kelly Blatz has done a great job of directing it and it’s full of twists and turns that will keep the audience hooked the entire time.

Strong performances from the entire cast, led by KJ Apa and Eric Dane, give the film its beating heart, and the film’s message is warm and relatable. It’s worth watching and gets four out of five stars.
