Honda CB200X unveiled – The best all-in-one budget bike? » MotorOctane

Today, Honda launched its most affordable touring motorcycle in India. The newly christened Honda CB200x will soon be in showrooms. In this article, we discuss Honda’s latest offering – what it offers, pricing and more.

Honda CB200X Price

Currently, the Hornet 2.0 sells for around Rs 1.57 lakh (on-road price) and the CB200x was launched at Rs 144,500 lakh (ex-showroom). Honda offers a 6-year warranty on the bike. The Hero Xpulse 200 is the biggest competitor to the CB200x, which currently sells for Rs 1.45 lakh (on-road price). Will the Honda CB200x give the Hero Xpulse 200 a run for its money? We will have to wait and watch.

Design and colors

The CB200x is based on the Hornet 2.0 with more touring capabilities. This new motorcycle has a tinted, larger windshield, knuckle guard with integrated indicators, raised handlebars and split seats with grab rails and a seat height of around 810mm. The tall seat height could pose a problem for short riders, especially when this motorcycle is used on trails and off-road. Just like the Hornet 2.0, the new CB200x also has dual-purpose tires and petal disc brakes on both wheels. The CB200x also borrows the design of the fuel tank, mirrors, LED headlight, tail section and other small parts from its naked sibling, the Hornet 2.0.

The new Honda CB200x is available in three colour options – Pearl Nightstar Black, Matte Selene Silver Metallic and Sports Red.

Honda CB200x Specifications

The new CB200x also has the same gold-coloured upside-down forks as the Hornet 2.0, which gives the bike an even more premium look. At the rear, it has a monoshock suspension. The BS6-compliant 184cc engine also seems to be carried over from the Hornet 2.0, which produces 17.03 bhp and 16.1 Nm of torque, along with the same five-speed gearbox. The absence of longer suspension and spoked wheels makes the CB200x more of a touring bike than an adventure bike. The CB500x has 110mm front wheels and 140mm rear wheels. The Honda The CB200x is expected to deliver decent fuel consumption of around 40 km/l. We will have to wait and see to find out more about the fuel consumption and handling characteristics.
