“Gilmore Girls” star Lauren Graham has landed her first film role in eight years.

The actress, who played Lorelai Gilmore on the hit series, has joined the cast of the upcoming Christmas film “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” (via Deadline).

Directed by Dallas Jenkins, the film is based on the classic book by Barbara Robinson and tells the story of six outsiders who volunteer to be the leads in their town’s Christmas play.

Following her last big screen appearance in the 2016 comedy Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life, Graham will play the film’s narrator – who has a key cameo appearance.

In addition to Graham, the blockbuster boasts an impressive cast list that includes stars from Jenkins’ drama series “The Chosen” – including Kirk BR Woller, Vanessa Benavente and Elizabeth Tabish.

Woller will play Reverend Hopkins, while Benavente and Tabish will play an elementary school teacher and a church lady, respectively. The family comedy also stars Judy Greer (Ant-Man) and Pete Holmes (Crashing).

Jenkins not only directed the film, but also co-wrote the screenplay with Darin McDaniel, Platte Clark and Ryan Swanson. The film recently wrapped production.

“I’ve been preparing for and imagining this film for over 15 years, so it was difficult to live up to my expectations,” Jenkins said.

“But working with incredible actors like Lauren, who I adore, along with my Chosen cast members and fan favorites Liz, Vanessa and Kirk, has exceeded my expectations. The entire cast takes the material to a new level and I am overwhelmed to work with them.”

Producer Kevin Downes added: “We have been huge fans of Lauren for 25 years and have dreamed of working with her one day. She brings her trademark warmth and charm that make her perfect for this cast.”

In between her film projects, Graham appeared in shows such as “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” “Leave it, Larry!” and “Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.”

She also appeared as the voice of Oxana in all three seasons of the animated series Vampirina.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” will be in US theaters on November 15th.
