QHS student dies from injuries sustained in bicycle accident near Ursa Tuesday – Muddy River News

QUINCY – A Quincy High School student who was injured in a bicycle accident near Ursa Tuesday night has died.

Jet Maddox Feramisco died at 11:35 p.m. on Friday, August 16, according to a post on his mother, Jamie Boeing’s Facebook page.

“We mourn his loss as a community and I ask that you hug your children and tell them you love them every day,” she wrote. “I am fortunate to have a tremendous flood of memories, photos and music that have touched each and every one of us. I was lucky to have been the mother of such a brilliant and compassionate young man.”

Todd Pettit, superintendent of Quincy Public Schools, also shared the news on his Facebook page.

“Jet will be greatly missed by students and staff, his bright light touched them deeply,” Pettit wrote. “Jet was a proud Blue Devil musician, athlete and scholar. Support for our QHS students and staff will continue next week as we process this tremendous loss. The entire QPS family sends condolences to Jet’s family during this difficult time.”

Officers with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department were called to the intersection of E603rd Lane and N. 2050 at approximately 8:39 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13th.th Ave for a traffic accident believed to involve a bicyclist and a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located Jet Feramisco, who had been bicycling on E603rd Lane and sustained serious injuries. He was taken from the scene by helicopter and transported to a hospital in Springfield.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release late Wednesday afternoon that no signs of a traffic accident were found and Feramisco’s injuries were consistent with a fall from a bicycle. The incident remains under investigation and further details are pending.
