These flowers cost more than a house
There aren’t many, but there are flowers that cost more than some houses. Yes, you read that right.
Here they are.
THE JULIA ROSE – $5 MILLION

You can buy Juliet roses for far less than $5 million (a quick Google search will yield blooms in the $50 range), but the flower is known as the “£3 million rose” because that’s how much famed rose breeder David Austin paid to develop the hybrid over a 15-year period. The rose made its debut at the 2006 Chelsea Flower Show and earned the name as the most expensive rose ever bred.
SHENZEN NONGKE ORCHID – $202,000 PER PLANT
This artificial orchid is one of the rarest in the world and was developed in a laboratory of the Shenzen Nongke Group. It took eight years to develop and was sold at auction in 2005 to an anonymous bidder for $202,000.
KADAPUL FLOWER – PRICELESS

This flower from Sri Lanka is so rare that it is considered priceless. It blooms at most once a year.
The Kadupal flower blooms only at night and is likely to die if touched. By the time the sun rises, it will have wilted.
The flower is so delicate and its lifespan so short that, according to experts, it would be impossible to buy it.
HONORABLE MENTION: CROCUS SAFFRON – 5,000 – 10,000 USD/POUND
Saffron grows from this flower – one of the most expensive spices in the world. To produce one pound of saffron, you need crocuses the size of a football field – about 70,000 flowers. The labor-intensive production process is the reason for the high price of the flower.
