Brad Pitt says he “feels the same” after comments on the “final leg” of his Hollywood career

Brad Pitt hinted about his impending retirement from Hollywood in a 2022 interview, and the A-list actor is now clarifying what he meant by his comments.

Although the 60-year-old actor had previously hinted that he was in the home stretch of his career, Pitt explained that he was “just trying to work less.”

“I’m still on the same trajectory. I feel the same,” Pitt said in a recent interview with GQ. “I’m really just trying to enjoy the people around me that I love and just live.”

While Pitt expressed the same opinion about the downturn in his career two years later, he made it clear that he was not leaving the industry yet.

Pitt had previously stated that he was in the “final phase” of his career.

“I meant seasons. You know, it was about leaving the safety of the Ozarks. You get into this thing and it’s all about discovery. … It’s really exciting and interesting… painful… horrible and all that.

“Then when you get into the big leagues, it’s another game of responsibility and accountability. But it also offers opportunities and joy … you work with people you really respect.”

The Oscar winner made his recent comments during a GQ interview alongside his “Wolf” co-star George Clooney.

Pitt then shared his view of the present.

“And then it’s that time now. It’s, ‘What are these final years going to look like?’ Because I see that my parents are very… I understand exactly what George explained.

“In your 80s, your body becomes more frail. And yet I look at Frank Gehry. He is just the most lovable person. … He is 95 and still makes great art. … He has a wonderful family. … I think that is kind of the formula for staying creative and continuing to love your life.”

Clooney, 63, added how “lucky” the two Hollywood actors were to be “in a profession that doesn’t force you into retirement.”

“OK, but there are two ways to do that, right? The phone stops ringing if you decide you want to continue to be the figure you were at 35 and want a softer lens,” Clooney noted.

“But if you’re willing to go a little further down the line, for example, and do some interesting character work, you can (keep working), so to speak.”

“I don’t know how to avoid sounding cheesy, but the air is just fresh… the grass is green, and I’ve just kind of become that guy.”
