Error with metrics and calories on Peloton Row for floor exercises (strength, yoga, bootcamp)

Error with metrics and calories on Peloton Row for floor exercises (strength, yoga, bootcamp)

A bug related to metrics in Peloton Row has been identified and a fix is expected to be deployed on August 26.

Members have been reporting issues with their readings while using a Peloton Row machine for the past few days or more – but only during floor exercises. This means they’re affected when using the Row machine for a strength workout, a yoga workout, or for the strength exercises during a rowing boot camp class.

However, if you take a traditional rowing course, everything will work out fine.

The most commonly reported issue related to this bug is that while some metrics are displayed on the screen, calories burned are reported as 0. This happens regardless of what type of heart rate monitor is connected – be it an Apple Watch or a third-party device connected via Ant+.

Peloton support initially asked members to reset their devices to factory settings, but that did not solve the problem.

Now Peloton has created an official bug for this issue on Peloton Rowers.

Furthermore, they have stated that a solution has been found. Unfortunately, this solution will not be rolled out immediately. Instead, Peloton says that the solution will be distributed to Peloton rowers starting August 26th.

If the timeline for this fix changes, we’ll be sure to provide updates here—and you can also check the Peloton status page.
