Jujutsu Kaisen and Batman voice actors join the cast for the Japanese dub of Transformers One


A big name comes to the Japanese dubbing of Transformers One is voice actor Tessho Genda. He is no stranger to the franchise, as he is the iconic Japanese voice for Optimus Prime, first voicing him in Generation 1. Although the character was originally called “Convoy” there, this role makes Genda analogous to Western Prime voice actor Peter Cullen. This time, however, he will not be voicing the leader of the Autobots, who is much younger in the events of the film. Instead, he will be voicing Alpha Trion, the creator of Optimus Prime in most continuities. He voiced Prime in the dub for the live-action Transformers films, and he is also the most commonly used Japanese voice for Batman, in some ways the national equivalent of the late Kevin Conroy.


Optimus Prime is instead voiced by Yuichi Nakamura, who is currently best known for his voice for Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu KaisenSubaru Kimura, who voices Aoi Todo in the same series, will play D-16/Megatron in the film.
