Cleveland Browns could sign an experienced defensive lineman after Mike Hall’s arrest

The Cleveland Browns got some terrible news Tuesday morning when their new second-round defensive tackle Mike Hall was arrested for domestic violence. The rookie defensive lineman was released from jail on Tuesday and was seen practicing with the Browns on Wednesday, but there’s a chance he could miss time this season.

The Cleveland Browns need to add another defensive player to their team, as starter Dalvin Tomlinson missed most of training camp due to injury and the Browns could use another experienced player.

Tomlinson is expected to be ready to go in Week 1, but if he can’t play, a veteran player could help fill that spot until he returns.

Cleveland Browns should sign Teair Tart

Teair Tart was released by the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday morning and the Cleveland Browns had previously shown interest in him.

Tart began his career with the Tennessee Titans in 2020 and started 36 times in four years for them. Tart was released midway through last season and signed with the Houston Texans, where he helped them reach the divisional round of the playoffs.

The four-year defensive player could join the Browns and help out from day one, and if Hall misses some time due to suspension, which is very likely, Tart could take his place on the active roster.

The defensive tackle position is a busy one, so adding another experienced player who can play ten snaps per game could be a great way for the other defensive linemen on the team to take a breather.
