What is your maximum/sub-target for 2024?

How good can the Washington Commanders be in 2024? Is it somehow possible for the Commanders to win four games or fewer this season? Washington finished 4-13 last season and swept.

There’s no way the revamped Commander won’t be better than the 2023 version, right?

New quarterback Jayden Daniels gives Washington hope. New head coach Dan Quinn and GM Adam Peters have rebuilt the defense. It’s hard to imagine a Quinn-led defense finishing last in the NFL, which is where the Commanders were in 2023.

ESPN recently announced the highs and lows for all 32 NFL teams. Washington’s lows and highs vary widely. ESPN gives the Commanders a high of 9-8 and a low of 4-13.

Washington ESPN NFL reporter John Keim called the offensive line the X-factor:

The Commanders have revamped their line, adding three new starters — center Tyler Biadasz, guard Nick Allegretti and rookie tackle Brandon Coleman. Washington allowed a franchise-record 65 sacks last season, though plays and quarterback Sam Howell were the main reasons for that. But if the Commanders play solidly up front, they can give rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels a huge boost and allow new OC Kliff Kingsbury to run a more diverse attack.

The Commanders’ offensive line will be much better if they stay healthy. Right guard Sam Cosmi is a rising star and Biadasz will provide stability at center. The Commanders needed to find a solid, experienced center to replace Daniels and Biadasz fits that bill.

Even though Washington has struggled at times, this team should win more than four games.
