Expected starting eleven for the DFL Super Cup | Bayer Leverkusen against VfB Stuttgart

To kick off the German football season, Bayer Leverkusen will host VfB Stuttgart in the DFL Supercup on Saturday evening.

Leverkusen will be without Exequiel Palacios, who is out with a knee injury sustained in the Copa America with Argentina. The only other absentee is Adam Hlozek, who is close to joining Hoffenheim or whose move may already be confirmed by then.

Debuts are possible for Aleix García, who could play in midfield alongside Granit Xhaka, and for striker Martin Terrier.

Stuttgart will see some changes to their squad for the final matchday of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The usual first-team players who will be absent are Dan-Axel Zagadou, who is still recovering from a ligament injury, Josha Vagnoman, who is recovering from a foot injury, and Enzo Millot, who has just returned from the Olympics with France.

Summer newcomers Jeff Chabot, Frans Krätzig, Justin Diehl, Nick Woltemade and Ermedin Demirovic could make their debuts.
