England will attempt to defend their T20 World Cup title as they travel to the USA and the West Indies.

Jos Buttler’s side struggled to defend their 50-over title last year and know they must improve their skills with the white ball enormously if they want to remain world champions.

After winning a warm-up series against Pakistan despite awful weather, England travel to their opening match against Scotland in high spirits before facing Australia, Oman and Namibia in Group B.

India are considered tournament favourites and are in the same group as Pakistan. The two rivals will meet in New York on June 9.

The West Indies will be looking for victory on home soil and hope to progress in a group that includes New Zealand, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea and Uganda.

The top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the Super 8 phase, where they will be split into two groups of four. The teams will play against all three other teams in their group, with the top two teams then advancing to the semi-finals.

For the first time, 20 teams will participate in the tournament. The USA will be participating for the first time as hosts and Canada and Uganda have qualified for their first participation.
