Baton Rouge fast food restaurant employee arrested for identity theft

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – An employee at a Baton Rouge fast food restaurant was arrested for taking photos of a customer’s debit card.

Rachel Henderson, 47, of Baton Rouge was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on charges of access device fraud, identity theft and anti-skimming.

According to an affidavit, Baton Rouge police responded to a theft at a Burger King on Perkins Road around 11:50 p.m. Monday. Police said Henderson was working as a cashier at the time of the incident.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who told BRPD that he had ordered food at the Burger King drive-thru. According to an affidavit, the victim stated, “When he gave the defendant his debit card, he saw her take a photo of the front and back of his debit card before giving him the card back.”

The victim also told officers he took Henderson’s phone and called police. According to an affidavit, the victim showed police photos of several cards where Henderson had taken photos of the front and back of the cards.

According to police, Henderson admitted to taking photos of the victim’s debit card.
