Just one step away from shaving your beard with Wolverine’s claws yourself, the Titaner TiGlide S1 is perhaps the coolest, smoothest, and most durable razor to grace your jawline with. Crafted from solid titanium, the TiGlide S1 features a beautiful minimalist design that allows for single blade shaving. A micro-texture on the titanium and a serrated ridge under the blade edge allow the razor to glide across your skin, while titanium’s natural antibacterial and biocompatible properties really make it the perfect choice for this razor’s design. Plus, it’s so durable, you’ll probably never need to buy another razor again.

Titanium has long been the material of choice for EDC device manufacturers due to its durability and corrosion resistance. However, the same reasons that make it perfect for EDC also make it perfect for razors. It’s durable, skin-friendly, rust-proof, and bacteria-resistant – all qualities that lend themselves beautifully to the TiGlide S1’s design.

The TiGlide S1 is based on a single blade shaving experience. Most razors on the market (we’re looking at you, Gillette) have two, three, or sometimes even four blades, promising a cleaner shave. The truth is, however, that clean shave also comes with skin burns caused by multiple blades grazing your skin. The trick to a clean shave is not the number of blades, but the angle at which the blade glides across your skin. If you do this right, you’ll have a clean, stubble-free jawline that won’t turn red from razor burn. The TiGlide S1 achieves this by allowing you to micro-adjust the angle of the blade as soon as you insert it into the razor. A screw on the back lets you adjust the angle of the blade to within a fraction of a degree, allowing you to quickly tweak it as you shave, giving you the perfect clean shave without the sensitive skin that follows.

The design of the razor is incredibly simple, which is what I personally like so much. Instead of over-complicating things with multiple blades, pivoting heads, and moisturizing aloe vera strips, the Titaner TiGlide S1 focuses on the essentials and does so in spectacular fashion. The razor is made from titanium and has a simple, low-poly-inspired design that might remind you of the form factor of a certain electric truck. The smooth handle may seem slippery to you, but the opposite is true: the design offers quite a bit of grip even with wet or soapy hands. A micro-texture on the razor head helps it glide effortlessly over your skin, and just below the blade edge is a wavy bar that further aids this smooth glide by allowing shaving cream to flow through its tiny grooves as the blade edge glides over your skin, delicately trimming each hair.

Using the TiGlide S1 is pretty intuitive if you’ve shaved before. Place half a blade into the top of the razor before clipping on the magnetic head. Tighten the screw on the back until you get the blade angle you want (make sure everything is locked in place) and you’re good to go. You can use the razor for dry or wet shaving. When you’re done, just rinse it under running water to remove all the shaving cream/stubble. A single-edge blade is much easier to clean than the multi-edge ones that have lots of grooves where hair can get caught. Titanium is naturally rustproof and antibacterial, so maintenance is a breeze.

When you’re done, the TiGlide S1 comes with its own stand that you can dock it on vertically. It feels almost anti-gravity the way the razor sits perfectly upright… although that’s the cool thing about the stand. Docking upright also allows the razor to dry faster thanks to gravity, so your blade won’t rust (the blade is still made of steel with a diamond-like coating). If you plan on traveling with your TiGlide S1, it also comes with a handy silicone case that you can use to carry the razor along with a few spare blades for the duration of your trip.

Aside from looking undeniably good, the TiGlide S1 is also committed to sustainability. Just like printer manufacturers, razor manufacturers like Gillette make their money not by selling razors, but by selling cartridges. They control the cartridge market (you can only use branded cartridges with your branded razor, right?), which means you’re their customer all the time. Plus, you’re buying disposable cartridges that contain blades and skin-soothing strips encased in a plastic sleeve that’s impossible to recycle once thrown in the trash. The TiGlide S1 has none of that. All you need is a simple pack of razor blades (choose a good quality one for a great shave) and you’re good to go. The blades break in half before being inserted into the TiGlide S1, and it’s recommended that you change the blade every 5-10 shaves, so each complete blade will last up to 20 shaves.

While there is no express warranty, your Titaner TiGlide S1 should last several lifetimes thanks to its titanium construction. Each TiGlide S1 starts at a discounted price of $129, comes with a silicone case, and ships worldwide. For an additional $12, you also get the titanium base/stand.
