Bayern starts DFB Cup with 4-0 win in Ulm – Coach Kompany makes debut
FC Bayern Munich started the new season with a 4-0 win against SSV Ulm in the DFB Cup and Vincent Kompany made his official debut as coach of the team.
Veteran Thomas Müller made it 1-0 in the twelfth minute and scored a brace just three minutes later.
Bayern scored their third goal in a slow second half when Kingsley Coman converted a cross from new signing Michael Olise in the 79th minute and Harry Kane headed home the fourth in injury time.
Kompany took over as manager of FC Bayern ahead of the new season, replacing Thomas Tuchel after the German record champions failed to win a title for the first time in over a decade.
