Maxie Solters, a third-generation publicist and daughter of Scoop marketing chief Larry Solters, died unexpectedly Thursday at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. She was 37.

The cause of death was initially unknown.

In 2012, Maxie continued her family’s legacy by following in the PR footsteps of her father and late grandfather, Lee Solters, a legend in the industry.

Known as a dynamic and valuable member of the Scoop team, Maxie Solters “brought a unique blend of creativity, passion and expertise to her work,” the company said in a statement. Her clients included the Kia Forum, the Hollywood Bowl and Music Forward, among others.

“Her infectious enthusiasm, positive attitude, innovative ideas and unwavering dedication made her an inspiration to all who knew her,” it continued.

Born on March 22, 1987, Solters grew up in Sherman Oaks. She graduated from Oakwood School and then USC with a bachelor’s degree in theater. After college, she began her career in film and television casting while also working as a coordinator at One Billion Rising, a global organization dedicated to ending violence against women.

In addition to her acting career, Solters demonstrated a creativity and drive that led her to create, produce, and star in her own comedy web series. She was a voting member of SAG.

Solters was actively involved with V-Day International and women’s rights, a testament to her compassion and desire to create a better future. “Her unwavering optimism and good heart touched the lives of many,” the company said.

In addition to her father and his partner Carol Greenhut, she is survived by her mother Debra Graff, her aunt Susan Reynolds, her cousin Jonah Reynolds, her long-time partner Dim Dobrin and her dog Pookie.

A celebration of life is being planned. Donations in her name can be made to One Billion Rising.
